Mark Ostyn tandem epic

By Mark Ostyn.

Hi all you sweaty uphillers and downhillers. Because i am a little bit slow sometimes ( though never on a bike ) I did not think to send info on mine and Bee Nees day trip through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Southern China ending up in Hong Kong. There were good bits and bad bits, and I think we can give some good advice on what to do or not .

First of all though I want to thank Gary who serviced the tandem free of charge, ( it was transformed ) and I can say that due to this we had no routine mechanical problems at all. Also to say what amazing value for money the Lerun tandem is. It caused huge excitement all the way on our trip, and we were mobbed by crowds of interested people just about every time we came to a stop which was great at times, then difficult to deal with at others. Unfortunately we went ill equipped with peoples contact points, particularly emails addresses for biking friends in Penang, and as I already said, I did not twig to send messages back through KOTRT.

Internet access was sometimes easy, often difficult, Hotmail servers just hardly worked all through Cambodia, and sometimes we were a week between seeing an internet station, not least when lost in the Chinese mountains. Will follow up with more later but am out of time right now. Wish you all had come along and it would have been a even beter trip. Still recovering physically!

Mark Ostyn and Bee Nee.
ps Gary, would like your email address.
